I waited too long to start listening to Internet radio. I started only a few months ago and now it is quickly coming to an end. The rates set by the US Copyright Office recently are causing most Internet radio stations to close up. My current favorite station, massinova.com, says that unless they can raise $4200 by Oct 20 they are closing up. This site doesn't receive a lot of traffic. Maybe 100 concurrent listeners.
I hope these events will encourage new acts to avoid signing contracts with RIAA affiliated labels. Those asshole executives are determined to lock down any music on the Internet, for the profit of a few and to the detriment of the rest of us.
