In the building beside mine I have a neighbor with a habit of locking their cat out on the balcony overnight. We've had our kitty stuck out on the balcony before, until we came back home and saw him looking sadly through the window. I know it happens, and it doesn't mean you're evil if you've locked your pet out. But either these people, are outrageously stupid and hard-of-hearing, or they see little kitty as some kind of a burden. They've boarded up most of their balcony, but the kitty is out on the ledge with his tail hanging off, crying his little kitty heart out. I wish I had a very tall ladder, or really long arms. If I'd heard him earlier in the evening I would have gone out and tossed him some heart-shaped treats, a warm cuddly blanket and little love notes. Poor kitty. When I hear his little cries it hurts my heart. His little paw pads must be freezing.
