I haven’t done a blog homework in a while so this question is:
How do you relax when feeling stressed?
I work in an office, so my mind tends to wander getting unnecessarily stressed from over thinking. One thing that helps me relax at works listening to positive affirmations while I work. I typically put one headphone on and one ear is free, so that I can still listen to the door and phone calls. I don’t have to have it loud has the sounds enough are hypnotic enough to put me in what I like to call work trance. The best part is I don’t have to fully pay attention to the sounds or words being spoken. They enter the mind subconsciously. That’s my distressing in workspace.
Occasionally, when I get alone I try to do a full mind meditation to release all negative thoughts and feelings. I have projector vision, so many of my past experiences good and bad consistently flash before my eyes. These moments when I can actually let them all flow naturally is more of an emotional relaxation time for me. Especially just to let them go internally. After one of these meditations, I am personally relaxed for a long while (which means less likely to get stressed).
Home distressing is much different. I tend to crash and get overly irritated if the house is a mess and then just sleep for a long while. Though it’s relaxing, it’s not the most ideal form of relaxing during a time of stress because the chores will never get completed and things start to pile up. After some toxic days of oversleeping, light an incense put some happy jams (and I don’t mean just anything. I’m literally talking about the happy songs that just pump you up with love and joy *lyrics matter*) and start cleaning one room at a time. Your home is a reflection of you. Clutter stresses me out after a while, so if I’m the only one cleaning the best things after I have it how I want is to I tackle the chore chart daily to minimize my stress for a more relaxing evening. When things are more in place, I can relax and then play animal crossing…… or just cat nap.
Also cannot forget those steaming hot bubble baths with all the bath bombs/salts!! Light a couple candles or so…..
