WHAT'S UP SG PARTY PEOPLE!
Not blogged in a while, guess it's the new layout, doesn't really encourage it.
Survived Xmas without the political argument with my family, didn't get too drunk New Years either since I was on budget.
Something that has recently changed in my mind, I'm now sometimes glad my ex left me, the last few months with her were absolute misery for me, I could nothing right, no matter what I did it was never good enough, started to treat me with the same contempt she treated her mother (though her mother deserved it, I didn't). But that's not why I'm glad, because if she hadn't left me for the other guy I wouldn't have met the amazing friends I have now, who made 2013 one of the best years of my life, my social life at least is what I always wanted it to be, we go to gigs of small local bands almost weekly, we stay up all night drinking and singing punk songs and they actually have respect for me. I owe these people so fucking much.
I haven't done everything I set out to do this year, haven't travelled anywhere, but I made loads of new friends instead and that's better.
The purchase of my flat should go through this month.
I made myself have fun paintballing again and now 2014 looks to be even better.
I got promoted at work.
I've been learning Tai Chi and Southern Dragon Kung Fu, though haven't been doing it as much as I would like, but Tai Chi is a great form of meditation.
I finally started a band, looks like that's actually come together now, should begin practising in earnest second half of this month, the name is most likely going to be "Department Of False Hope"
Hope you enjoy this song, it was originally done by various people for Amnesty International but Anti-Flag being massive supporters of the charity covered it, amazingly, this is my wish for 2014, that we can make the world a better place for everyone. On that note I think next year I'm not going to be buying presents for my family next Xmas, it all felt so shameful spending money on token gestures that's suppose to show I care, I think I'll just make donations to Amnesty International in their names instead, help save lives instead of fuelling the commercial bullshit that occurs every year.
