No question today, too tired to think of one. Nights like this are definitely one of the good things that have happened to me in the last year
In December I was out with my cousin and some of his mates, I was just going for a taxi home when I was picked off the street by some other punks saying "Oi punk, you're coming with us to a house party" so I went with them and made the best friends I've ever had. Tonight was another night with them, down the Blind Tiger for the "All the Bloody Best" festival, a load of small punk and ska bands. Around 10 (having started at 5) we got bored and retired to one of their flats, a dozen people all crammed into a small living room with Mig playing a guitar skipping between various songs, including Roots Radical by Rancid, vocally lead by yours truly.
I also spoke to another friend who I met the night Mig was attacked and I was hit with a skateboard, because I started hanging out with these guys and started putting out the word that I was trying to get a band together. My singing's actually better than I first thought and whilst my mate is in 2 bands already, he's gonna help me find other interested people.
Essentially I would be looking to form a very Bad Religion style band with me singing, but as with any band, no doubt all the member will have their own idea's, but lyrically the best songs I've written are inspired by them. I've posted this one before, but I've reworked and improved it since then.
A Curse?
So here we are thrown together in the fray
So few ask the questions and show the signs of our dismay
Chronophobia is abated through bold materialism
But nothing we can buy will prevent our cataclysm
So foolish we must seem in pursuit of selfish dreams
We annihilate each other through a blitz of anguished screams
Our sentience is hailed as a triumph of natural life
But I say its a curse that causes suffering and strife
Why must we live this life so cursed?
To know our fate and how it cannot be reversed
A curse, A curse, that cannot be reversed
A curse, A curse, that cannot be reversed
Is oblivion our fate or to re-join the universe?
Our ship is sailing on an ill-fated course
The irrationality of significance we must divorce
Were all stuck hear together as our existence drains away
Some seek to halt our quests with fake divinity
Is the black the end or can we find serenity?
Why must we live this life so cursed?
To know our fate and how it cannot be reversed
A curse, A curse, that cannot be reversed
A curse, A curse, that cannot be reversed
Our bloody history shows fallacy, hate and greed
True greatness is reducing others suffering
Do what you can before the last reprieve!
Why must we live this life so cursed?
To know our fate and how it cannot be reversed
A curse, A curse, that cannot be reversed
A curse, A curse, that cannot be reversed
Is oblivion our fate or to re-join the universe?
A curse, A curse, that cannot be reversed
A curse, A curse, that cannot be reversed

Cool well good luck with your band. My bf wants to start a band too. I'm not so sure how I feel being boarded on with that. This song is very well done I love it. When you get some guitar! to go with it.... post it here so I can check out what you've done with it :}
