What's your favourite film?
My answer: Red Cliff - It's a Chinese epic directed by John Woo and centre's around a battle during the Chinese Three Kingdoms period (made famous by the Dynasty Warriors games) and is 5 and half hours long in two parts. Whilst it has some of the most epic large scale battle scenes featuring thousands of extras, it also has martial arts, philosophy, culture, character dynamics and even 2 romance plotlines (particularly the one between characters who nickname each other "Piggy" and "Pit")
I would strongly recommend this film to anyone, it really is breathtaking.
Rage vent time!
Me and my friends were planning to go to Newquay at the end of the month, I was really looking forward to it because I had been saying we should go there again for months, then one of my so called "friends" turns round and starts making excuses about why I can't go, it would mean a bigger room, an extra car, making it more expensive for everyone, this was a dick move on it's own, singling me out as the expendable one for "cost" reasons, even though it actually wouldn't have cost more than a tenner more each. But apparently he had turned round and said he wouldn't go if I did, said he didn't think we'd get on for the weekend, what the actual fuck? We've been friends for nearly 10 years and have been on holiday together many times before. So after that out of the 3 other people going, 1 said he wouldn't go if this guy didn't go and the other 2 said they wanted me to go, so it was split 2v2 and me and the whole thing was called off.... for about a day before the other 2 caved and booked it anyway without telling me.
Fucking childish behaviour from those 2, we're 24 years old, that sort of shit is for kids, but for the rest of them to cave to his childishness like that is almost as bad. I text the friend in question to try and straighten things out, talk him about the problem but as expected he's ignored me. As far as I'm concerned he is not my mate anymore, will still try and pull him aside for a chat next we're all out together since we're both still friends with the rest of them.
Shits got me rather down, I was just starting to feel happy with my life again then something like this comes along and knocks me down again.
The rest of my friends, my punk friends are all at Boomtown Festival this weekend, I was gonna go there or Rebellion this weekend but it looked unlikely I would get the time off, then became impossible when sadly one of my colleague's father died Thursday and he's had to fly home for the weekend so the rest of us need to cover him. So I won't complain at missing the festivals.
