This is crazy...
Thanks for all of the Birthday wishes folks. It was pretty crazy to come here and see all the birthday love....I'm shocked! You guys rule.
Anyhow...good birthday story:
On Sunday night I fell asleep kinda early....super hung over from the BroBQ. I woke up to the phone ringing and it was my pal Miss Piss up in Seattle. She had gone to a punk show and we chatted about that for awhile and also the normal stuff....always great to speak with her.
Anyhow, just after midnight we hung up and my phone rings almost immediately. It was one of my best buddies Mike down in Hollywood calling to wish me a happy birthday. I had told him that it was Wednesday, not Monday...but thanks anyways and all that. He said he had a friend there that wanted to wish me a happy bday as well....he hands the phone over and dude said "Happy Birthday Eric...it's Allen Epley" Then he sang happy birthday all sexy-like to me over the phone.
I freaked the fuck out.
Allen Epley is one of my favorite musicians of all time. He was the singer of Kansas City's finest rock band, Shiner. Shiner broke up last year, which was a huge bummer for me. He's got a new band now which I missed in SF last week because we were playing across the damn street.
Anyhow, that was awesome and I'm still stoked.
Thanks again, ya'll....means alot to me.
