I"M BACK!!!
I'm back here in Ohio after touring w/ Girlush Figure for about 3 weeks. What a good time that was! Yeah, I missed like 2 of their shows from between Aug. 4th - Aug. 24th. It was a killer time to say the least. It was good seeing all our friends @ all the Ohio shows GF played the 1st week of the tour. And of course seeing GF share the stage w/ Legbone for the 1st half of the tour was pretty killer & such a blast!
It was really cool being able to hit all the places that we did... and those girls will still be touring for another 2 months so be sure to catch them if they are coming to yr area... which I'm sure they are as they are hitting everywhere on this tour! I got to see alot of great places & see friends / bands I dont see very often which was cool. Places I hit on the road w/ GF included: Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, Chicago, Springfield, Troy... then GF went to TN + KY without me as I had to work a few days... but then I was back again w/ them for shows in Dayton, Bloomington, Ypsilanti, Indianapolis, Chicago (again), Minneapolis, St. Paul, Iowa City, Des Moines, + Wichita. A total blast... albeit a bit hot on the road this year. I guess thats the Midwest for ya! We got to see the Mall Of America this year in Mpls... and we stayed with our dear friend Lori Barbero of BABES IN TOYLAND fame. She's such a sweetie! We got to stay @ Rita Mae's Aunt + Uncle's place which was like a mansion. It was such a beautiful house... we all loved it! The shows were decent... some better than other of course. I think my favs were the OH shows as well as the ESTROJAM event in Chicago they played. And of course the Punk Nite 3 show in Troy as those shows are always a blast! I cant wait to see GF back in Troy again at the end of October.
GF's new drummer Rita Mae is amazing! Just go see them & watch her & you'll see what I'm talking about. The new album.. "Rotten To The Core"... is just killer. Look for it to be available from them or thru Rodent Popsicle Records out of Boston any day now!

And of course a GF tour cant happen without some adversity. Yeah, lost the tread on one of their vans front tires & had to have a passerby dude stop & help us out. Then, the van wouldnt accelerate over 55mph so they had to get that fixed... apparently it was a muffler problem or something. I ended up missing my flight out of Wichita due to these problems... but just ended up postponing it an extra day which didnt bother me at all. I wasnt complaining as I got another day to spend w/ the Girlush Figure girls.
All in all... it was definitely a great time. I look forward to doing it again next year!!!
Lots + lots of stuff coming up that I will post in an upcoming journal entry. I'm gonna be busy busy yet again come September + October. I think I like it that way though.
Take it sleazy!!!

Aww, that really sucks about their van. I guess that situation is 100x worse than the $8000.00 worth or court-ordered debt from the last van that I am stuck paying for the next 10 or 20 years of my life for that fucking band. Never heard of them? You're lucky. Cheers.
