WHAT A WEEKEND!!!
Friday:
I picked up TRYST at the Greyhound station in Columbus around 10am. She had traveled all the way out from Virginia to spend a weekend out in Ohio. She didnt enjoy her 1st Greyhound bus experience... but she made it. We then headed back to Troy to chill at my house. We hit up some Bob Evans for some good eats before that though. Then, we chilled at the house & I let Tryst do alot of her computer stuff since she doesnt have regular access back home. We also got to watch her 1st set debut on SG. That was super cool & special to be there with Tryst as her set debuted. We were both super happy & excited! We chilled at the house till bout 7pm... then headed to Cincy to catch Tub Ring @ The Void. Great show.. those guys get better every time I see them. They also played with this Japanese band called Mong Hang who I cant even really explain. Great show to say the least though! Tryst was happy we came as she got to see her friends Tub Ring who she's good friend with. Also, we ran into our friend Bob from Deceiving Ralph who is another good friend of ours. Finally left Cincy around 12 or so & got back home round 1:30-2am. I finally got to bed around 2:30ish... which meant very little sleep leading into Cedar Point day.
Saturday:
I was up at about 5:15am on Saturday. So I didnt even get 3 hours of sleep! Oh well! Tryst was still on my computer when I woke up.. she had been up all night doing computer stuff. Damn! We finally left the house around 6am... hit up some McDonalds & finally got to try one of those McGriddles. Pretty darn good! We finally got on the road for Cedar Point around 6:30am. Not too bad! The drive wasnt too bad... but I was still super tired! Tryst ended up sleeping the whole way there. It only took 3 hours to get there which I thought was cool as I thought it was a longer drive than that. We got to Cedar Point around 9:30am or alittle after and met up with the SG crew. It was so cool getting to see / meet some of the fellow SG members. I'm not gonna even try to name the names as I know I'll forget somebody & dont wanna do that. It was a total blast @ Cedar Point. Props have to go out to Missy for putting that whole shindig together. It was a killer time! Tryst & I rode just about all the rides we wanted to... Demon Drop, Turnpike Cars, Matterhorn... then hooked up with the SG group again & some of the group went on Snake River Falls & got soaked. It was fun! Then, we all went to Johnny Rockets & had lunch. All 16 or 17 of us that is. Very cute place... and their waiters / waitresses even danced to some of the songs that played in their restaurant. It was pretty cool! Then, Tryst & I started hitting up all the rides we could... Raptor, Power Tower (1st & only ride I've EVER been afraid to go on), Mantis, Magnum XL-200, Gemini, Iron Dragon... and I think thats it! We would have went on the new coaster... Top Thrill Dragster... but it had been down on & off thru the day & we didnt want to take the chance. You should have seen this ride though! Wow!!! Tryst & I won this cute pillow for her roommate Raquel that is pink & says "HOTTIE" on it. I had to make sure we won it for Raquel..and we did! We ended the night watching Snoopy's Summer Spectacular which was a light & laser show that was actually pretty cool. We dug it at least! After Cedar Point.. hit up McDonalds... then drove to Columbus to get a hotel. We had one hell of a time getting one though as just about every motel / hotel in or near Columbus was booked.. there must have been something going on. We finally found something.. bout an hour & a half of looking & bout 15-20miles west of Columbus. We got into our hotel room around 3:30am & I was out as soon as I laid on the bed.
Sunday:
I woke up around 10:30 on Sunday... got a nice shower & felt pretty good. I actually had a nice night of sleep so I was happy! Tryst slept till just about when we had to checkout... got ready quickly & we were out by just after 11am. Some quick food at Wendy's... then off to Lollapalooza in Columbus. I knew it was going to be different... being that it has changed since the last time I went in '95. Plus, the tour has been gone for the last several years. The crowd has definitely changed... more of just yr regular radio listeners then yr punks & goths who used to go to this festival. We walked around the Midway... saw all the cool vendors & stuff. Its always cool to see all that actually. And the atmosphere of Lollapalooza is still just wonderful. Its just something about the people... or just being at a music festival. We watched The Donnas on the mainstage. They were pretty good! Donna C. (the drummer) & Donna R. (the vocalist) are definitely the ones to watch. Those girls rock it out & are the backbone of the band. If you see them, watch those 2 girls & you will be impressed! They got a nice standing ovation from the crowd after their set. I unfortuantely missed The Distillers autograph signing due to watching The Donnas set. Ah well.. no biggie! Headed back to the Midway after The Donnas.. just walked around & looked at all the stuff that was there. We went to this stage called the Booty Camp where they had contests for people to do weird things & they could win like backstage passes & stuff. It was cool.. and quite funny. They had a wet t-shirt contest.... some people bobbed for dookie (which were actually just candy bars) & lots of other funny stuff. We watched that stuff for awhile & got a good kick out of some of the stuff they did. Then, headed over to the autograph tent & watched as The Donnas signed autographs for fans. It was really cool to see them in the limelight.. especially since they are a grrll band! Then, headed over to the 2nd stage & watched Steve-O from the movie Jackass perform. He does some pretty messed up shit! He started off by smashing beer cans on his head. Next, he smashed a light bulb on his head & took a piece of the glass & starting slicing up his tongue with the glass. He was bleeding & everything... wiping some of the blood on his face like he was in some Indian tribe. A bunch of people in the audience ended up fainting... and that almost included my dear friend Trsyt. She had to go to the back & lay in the grass as she started to feel real weak when he was doing all that stuff. Probably the site of blood or something as I guess this happens alot when he does this. He then had a guy shoot 4 staples into his ass. Ouch!!! He also snorted baking soda... took a shot of tequila... and poured lemon juice into his eyes. I told ya this guy is crazy!!! The crowd was packed in to see him though!!! And lastly... The Distillers ended the night for the 2nd stage. They kicked some serious ass! Brody just totally rocked it out. Its really cool to see them on a tour like Lollapalooza! The Distillers were definitely my fav. band that I saw on Lollapalooza hands down! We had to leave shortly after the end of The Distillers set to make sure that Tryst caught her bus back to Richmond. So we left Lollapalooza.. went to the Columbus bus station... Tryst got her bus ticket.. got some McDonald's & spend our last time together of our long weekend. Tryst finally got on her bus back to Richmond around 10:15pm Sunday night in which I headed back home.
WHAT A GREAT WEEKEND!!!
I ended up calling into work today just for being so tired from everything I did this past weekend. It was all fun... and I had such a blast.
*I'm hoping to have pics from this past weekend & the weekend I was out in Richmond up in the My Pics section soon*

hey babe -- no offense, but I prefer to keep who I'm interested in completely anonymous, so if you could possibly change your journal entry that would be great. I thought you knew this -- this isn't something I was really ready to divulge to this guy yet, and I'm certain he reads this junk.
