My parents want me to go to my sister's wedding.
Part of me believes it's because they want to show off their crowning achievement as parents. My sister graduated from college, met a nice boy and is going to marry him, fully removing her from their direct care.
I, on the other hand, enlisted after high school. I married a girl I hardley knew and got divorced after a few hellish months. I now work at a medium level job, and live (in sin) with a girl that I love.
The other part of me believes that they just want me to support my sister. I dig that, it's a nice thought, but why should I support someone who never supported me?
So my question to you dear reader, is what should I do? Go, and play nice, or stay and show my defiance?

In my case my sister and I never got along as kids. But when she announced that she was getting married I went. Not so much to support my sister, but rather to avoid any problems or hard feelings with members of my family that I did get along with and respected.
Just go... be seen... grub at the reception and drink the free booze then bail.
there's my 2
