Hey SG Friends and Neighbors,

I hope this finds you well and good.

The victims of the tsunami have been on my mind. I think about it all the time, imagine what it would be like to be out on the beach enjoying the day and having your whole world turn to havoc and danger with the arrival of one huge wave. I have no money -- really, no job and no money -- but I wish I could do something to help that they need. I wish I was a doctor or water rescue expert or something.

Anyway things are as they are. I keep putting in applications and getting nowhere. I got a response to the manuscript I sent in to an editor two weeks ago and it was overwhelmingly positive. He sent along some very good suggestions for the manuscript, one of which is brilliant and blew my mind. That made me happy. Im going to try to finish it this month.

New Year's was plenty fun. I went to a party at a college buddies house (hereafter known as Ms. Translation). Ms. Translation throws great parties, drinks like a longshoreman and always makes me laugh at her audacity and flippancy. Her party was fun. She moved all the furniture out of her living room so we can dance. And dance we did.
