Hello SG Friends and Neigbors,
I hope this finds you well and good. Im having a lovely weekend thus far.
Things are good. The play is going well slowly, but well. I started II 2 last night, and it made me laugh out loud to read it to myself. I must remember to not give some characters more lines just because they are cuter than the others.
Its cold. Now, Ive lived in truly cold climes before New York, Chicago but I always had heat there. Cold outside you can deal with. Our tiny place here in Athens GA has two gas heaters but we havent turned the gas on yet. Were going to try to get by with space heaters alone, since the gas heaters are in awkward locations in the house and the price of gas has skyrocketed. So . . . its cold here in the house. Not bad in the bedroom where we have a heater, but here in my office its cold.
We are working a big stock-up project at my day job, which makes my current day-to-day job very, very tedious. Its a good gig, no doubt, but man oh man has it grown tedious.
Tedious is kind of my life right now. I work, I take care of my girl while does her grad school work (my girl needs a real SG Punkinblog nickname and will hereafter be called Maya in this space). I cook, clean, wash clothes. I write when I can. Ive become this weird domestic entity. Mind you, my down time is delicious. When Maya and I can spend time watch out I love everything about spending time with her. It makes it all worthwhile.
Things would be better if we werent ass broke right now. I cant really justify going to shows, or out for yummy meals, or in getting new music/ DVDs. I would love a new computer, a new car, a big weekend out on the town. Hehehe. Perhaps next month.
I am not a very good cook, but of late I have had some triumphs. I made some bad ass jalapeno cornbread from scratch last night. Good turkey burgers last week. Ms. Tattoo, one of the greatest instinctive cooks I know, said she would give me a few pointers. This week she said shell let me assist making her famous fish tacos. I would love to be able to make them whenever I want.
Anyway, I best to all. Nothing but love.
take it light,

Taoist thought of the day: Test your limits to understand them.
Cat Report: Maya is starting to really understand the cat thing. Before, she expected Vindaloo to come when shes called, sit on command, act abashed when shes scolded, etc. She's more comfortable with Cat Nature now. I think they are both still getting used to one another.
Factoid: I have a weird thing for Amanda Plumber. I loved her so much in The Fisher King, Pulp Fiction, So I Married An Axe Murderer and this English film I saw here in where she played a serial killer that went around wrapped in chains 24/7. My past celebrity crushes have included Grace Jones, Sandra Bernheart, Tina Fey and Jenine Garafalo.
Currently digging: Scarface, Snow, Robert Cray, Toasted cornbread, Enterprise, fleece
