I find baking something yummy and delicious incredibly soothing. To quote one of my favorite movies Julie and Julia
I love that after a day when nothing is sure and when I say "nothing" I mean nothing, you can come home and absolutely know that if you add egg yolks to chocolate and sugar and milk, it will get thick. It's such a comfort.
So very very true! For example- Today I decided to push aside the darkish cloud that has been looming over my head and bake homemade cupcakes. Vanilla Chiffon Cupcakes with Buttercream Frosting. As I'm wisking and mixing away, I'm no longer thinking of all things bad and dark, just simply about the simple goodness coming together before me. The smell of warm cupcakes fills the apartment and suddenly everyone is smiling, even my youngest, who is still not feeling well. And then that perfect moment when everyone digs in and the places is filled "mmmmm" and "Mommy these are so good" and "Thank you hunny".
Baking is truely good for the soul.
But, when i look to the fuel price, finally, I go more often in my kitchen!
So... Baking is good for soul... and for saving money!!!
Baking definitely sounds productive. Plus you get to enjoy the fruits of your labor
