Aparently, Against Me! used to be on No Idea. Which isn't to say that they aren't on that label anymore, they are just putting out their next CD on Fat Wreck.
Which kind of sucks, in my eyes.
No Idea is the best label ever. I hold no other loyalty to any other label.
But I owe so much to No Idea #11, the magnificent 'zine that introduced me to such bands as Don's Ex-Girlfriend, Vanbuilderass, Initial State, El Toro, When Puberty Strikes, and (though not limited to) Less Than Jake.
I got 'zine #12, but misplaced the CD, which I wasn't very fond of, but miss so many songs on it!
And last year, I found a tribute album to No Idea, which I instantly bought,
I need to make an order to them and get reaquainted with my favorite-scene-which-I've-never-actually-visited.
That 'zine made my life so cool! I thought to myself, after buying the 'zine at (blech) Tower Records in San Diego that it was the coolest thing ever, and that Gainsville, Florida was the coolest town in the world. Which I doubt it actually is, but I dreamed of going to a record store where you could find 7 inches and punk rock records, and zines. And going to a punk rock show.
Oh the youthful idealism I had!
That was before the revolution started inside my head, and I've been in combat ever since.
Hot Water Music kind of sucks, I think. I just don't get it! But Against Me! sounds like they are from Gainsville! They are so unique and nifty and great and stuff!
Send me their CDs.
