What a long week. I worked 8AM Wednesday to 2PM Thursday, straight, with roughly a two hour break smattered in. I was called out at 11:45 Thursday night and had to drive to Prescott, AZ to bring a customers phone and data back up. I got home around 6:30AM, and went right back into work. I was told to go home, but stuck around until noon anyway. Got home at 2PM, slept until 3AM this morning, and have been up again since. Going back to work, now, to finish out the week.
Things are getting so busy, its unbelievable. We have more customers than ever, and the same amount of staff. One of the project managers is leaving the PM department and moving to Sales Delivery, so all of her work orders are basically being dumped over the next week with less than 72 hours notice. Were going to have a lot of last-minute work to do as the transition happens. Im tired!
I need to fix the Neon this weekend. Im ripping out the engines wiring harness; I might just replace the whole thing to save myself the trouble. I might also replace the coil pack, depending on whether or not I find any fault in the wiring harness.
I was going to buy a 93 Toyota Paseo, but the guy I was buying it from kept dicking me on the price, raising it because he kept doing work on it. Then he tells me the night Im supposed to buy it that he wants to check AutoTrader to make sure hes asking a fair price. He finds out theyre selling for more, so now he wants more. It used to be $1300, then it was $1500, then it was $1700, now its $2200. Fuck, man! Im not sure if I want to buy it at this point. I still think $2200 is a fair price for the car, but Im a little ass-sore from all the fucking hes done in the last week.
Working for Annie, SteveNeurotic, and a property management company over in Peoria. Somehow, I think I hate not having something to do.
Im out, kids!
The early bird catches the worm, gets breakfast, goes through work orders, updates inventory, and develops a streamlined inventory management system before he goes home tonight.
Sweet deal! I got an old laptop from work that Im going to use as a firewall. Unfortunately, it only has one network port. Im solving this by using another freebee: a 3com PCMIA 10/100 network card with matching dongle. Hardcore. I might see what a couple of card-and-port PCMIA cards go for these days, instead of rocking that dongle. Im curious how this thing is going to stack up. If it works, itll be a whole hell of a lot quieter than the tower, smaller, and will generate less heat.
I get all kinds of toys from the systems admin at work.
He who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man.
