Work is feeling better. Like George Carlin said, dont sweat the petty things and dont pet the sweaty things. Moving towards a better attitude towards the stupid stuff at work, and doing a lot better with the constant influx of bullshit and ridiculous customers. Beat down, jaded? No, just accepting the fact that some things dont change and theres no point in letting them get me down. The stuff we can change is being changed, and that makes it all the more positive.
Its that time of the year, if there is such a thing, where thoughts start to drift toward home. Highlighted this year because I wasnt able to go home for Christmas; I missed my family and my friends. I wonder when well expand up to the Northwest. It was on the schedule for this year at some point, but instead of continuing north (opened Las Vegas and Salt Lake City last year) they veered drunkenly south-east to Austin, Texas. Go figure. Thoughts of talking to the CEO (straight to the top, motherfucker) about a move when Seattle or Portland comes close weigh heavily on my mind.
Im trying to decide if I want to spend the money and go to Phoenix Comicon this year. wilwheaton is supposed to be there; Id like to get one of his books I have signed. In gold Sharpie, cause all the girls signed in silver.*
Im trying very hard to think of more stuff to write about, but quickly, because I want to go to bed. But I also dont want to waste this entry. Thats as if you could waste something that doesnt exist in limited quantities.
I have bread and crackers on my shopping list, and I need to deposit a check. I keep trying to do it on my lunch break, but I dont think Ive taken one of those in at least two weeks.
I have a bit of a cold, and I just remembered that I have a full bottle of Nyquil in the medicine cabinet. Lights out, kids.
* Yeeeeah, you have to read his book(s) to get that one. Sorry.
