can you imagine how strange it must look to a deaf person to watch people dance? i thought this the other day when i was watching a group of people dancing not very well (though, points for trying really hard and they looked like they were having fun so more power to them).
beauty is commonplace. you can find it anywhere, if you are looking carefully enough. what makes something beautiful? it comes shining through from the soul. it is a passion for living life. edgar allen poe would tell us beauty is what moves the sensitive soul to tears. how important is beauty? anne frank would tell us it was not remembering all the misery but all the beauty that got her through her tough times.
i live in a city of millions driven by the ugliness of the human rat race, but i must remember the beauty of things because thats all we can really hope for. thats also what is great about my city. so full of energy, so vibrant. i could do anything.
I offer you peace. I offer you love. I offer you friendship. I see your beauty. I hear your need. I feel your feelings My wisdom flows from the Highest Source. I salute that Source in you. Let us work together for unity and love.

new orleans is kind of a love/hate kind of city. i've found that people living here either love it or hate it, or more commonly, waver between the two. i mean, it's known for mardi gras, the world's biggest free party, so is an attraction for lots of drunken revelers. but it's also appeals to folks drawn to darker, supernatural type stuff, so you get that element, too. all that history makes it feel kind of european in a way, but it's also one of those beautiful decaying places, like venice. and the modern system is one of the most incompetant and crooked in the country, in my opinion, with not much being done to change it. and no one cares- it really is the city that care forgot. so there's an air of stagnance and immobilty, and it's contagious. like i said... i love it and hate it. but i think i need a new perspective.
