i spent about 10 minutes reading the "missed connections" section of craigslist...and i hated it. LOATHE. ABHOR. in case you dont know what it is, its a bulletin where you can opine (and pine) over people whom you had a missed connection with - on the train, bus, street, wherever. what it REALLY is though, is a bulletin for some emo hipster cowards too afraid to approach an other human being and say "hello." they see someone, pee their pants, run home to their computer and say, "oh, i had this split second intense connection with you, but because i'm such a nancy boy, i'm going to dissect it and passive aggressively post it on a public site anonymously in the case you see it and respond...? maybe if i pull your pigtails and kick you in the shins you'll know i'll like you. its straight up 3rd grade playground bull shit.
i'm a bit late to the party, but check THIS out.
i read an interesting article by jonathan alter quoting bob schieffer. he says that the most successful presidents have taken advantage of the most dominant and cutting edge technology and media - the founding fathers and pampleting, fdr and radio, jfk and tv. dean and kerry tried with the internet. whoever will be president in 2008 will need to be able to take advantage of everything the internet offers - and avoid all the pitfalls. the idea of amassing early campaign money has been proven to no longer be a necesary evil.
summer evenings in the city is the best.

isn't it terrible? it just reminds me of the ghost world movie and how many people like steve buscemi's character there are roaming about the city.
