So last night I had a gig with a string quartet for an office's 50th anniversary party at the chalet du Mont-Royal. You couldn't believe how much fun I had. I couldn't believe it myself. We played a shit load of boring pieces, but it was really enjoyable. And well, as most of those business meetings are, nobody really listened carefully to us, since it's really for a background ambience. That removed so much pressure, and we weren't that well prepared, so if somebody fucked up, we'd laugh. We'd speak openly during and between the songs.
But shit, I didn't quite fit in. It showed that they had put a lot of money in this event. I wasn't expecting it to be so classy. First off, they rented slick tables and sofas, you know, white, low, squarish and uncomfortable sofas, really in. There were like blue lights mixed in with the regular ones, cold atmosphere, mixed with the very rustic look of the chalet. They literally served oysters and sushis, and bunch of fancy and tasty shits, I have no clue about what they were. We were served rice noodles and shrimps with coconut milk and tasty truffles. Not to mention I drank on the job... They served litchi liquor and apple liquor flavored vodka, with litchis and apples in each glass. And I definitely have to mention the bar was carved out of fucking ice! I've seen ice sculptures before, but I couldn't have imagined seeing one in such a context. And it was so cool, there were like frozen fruits in it and all... I have to say that I missed my camera at that time.
And although I was with three girls I don't know and who have nothing in common with me, I had a fucking great time with them. And that's hard to believe for such an unsociable girl.

Your comment that I love so much is still there. I just made another entry last night and by the time I finished writing here and elsewhere on other sites, it was about two in the morning, and just had to fall asleep. For some reason, the comment links are gone from my blog archive. I assume that's the way it is for everybody, and so it's probably a new, lingering bug in the SG site engine.
Anyway, I'm hoping to have a weekend like your's was in just a few days, here. I need some time off to take care of some stuff.
I have a friend who wants to go with me to a tattoo convention coming up pretty soon, but I honestly don't think I'm up to it. Like you, I'm not really sure the typical tattooed guy or gal is really my kinda person. I suppose I'd have to go to find out, though, so maybe in the end I will.
Nathan looks like a pretty cool guy. Who played at that C. O. M. A. 2 festival? Seems like a sweet shirt he has there - I love that it's in French, but then, that's Montreal, no?
Actually, I don't know if there's really that much of a gender difference with regard to intelligence. If anything, really, I'd say that girls are typically smarter. You know, they generally mature faster and have a bit more time for their heads to grow and all that, you think? Anyway, this rollergirl (chick I met at the roller derby) and I have been emailing back and forth and she seems brighter than I first thought, though she also seems a little bit crazy. (But who isn't?)
Whoa! Exciting! You were making the love with someone else while Ent was in the room? Sounds kinda kinky. I'm pretty sure I couldn't do that, though, or let it be done to me. I would be too possessive for it to happen if I was with the right person. Can you ever see it happening again?
Let me tell you, that was one of the most wonderful compliments ever, in your last comment when you said that you'd have a nice evening cuz you got words from me. Thank you very much, and you know I feel the same when I hear from you.
As always, I wish you were closer...
Lurvings,
The C.O.M.A. festival sounds really cool, but I have to admit that I haven't really heard of any of those bands. That can be a very good thing, however, because I need to experience new music more than I am now. Congrats on being an official photographer of the fest! That's very cool.
I dunno. I'm still a bit intimidated by the extra-relationship action thing. I just don't think I could do it. But then again, I've never tried it, so who the hell knows?
OK, so I have band practice tomorrow, hopefully, since it was moved from today to then. I look forward very much to bangin' some skins, and I'll let you know how it goes.
I hope you had or are still having a great night.
Take care,
