Today, I once again witnessed the great irony of life.
ok, it goes like this:
I had an assignment in class for what we called "equivalence" in photography, and we had to interpret our own meaning of the term itself. I have a lot of assignments this session, so it goes without saying that I don't put myself deeply into each and every work (especially when I don't feel concerned about the subject). But with that subject, I really found something to say. But one of the pictures in my work wasn't mine, I took it on the internet, and I said it right away. And before I got the chance to explain the whole meaning of the shit, my teacher started bashing the fact that I took someone else's work to put it in mine and that it was fundamentally wrong to do that because I'm supposed to express myself, and blablabla...
You can see my work in the folder school work in my pics (it's the first one in the folder) THE FISH IS A PICTURE I TOOK ON THE INTERNET. IT ISN'T MINE.
The funny thing is, in my work, the picture that got me in trouble was supposed to represent trouble. I was basically explaining that in life, there are hard steps to take, sadening events, but that they were necessary to our evolution and that we had to grieve, but then go on with it and take something out of the bad experience.
So, to make things clear, the presentation of my work provoked exactly what I wanted to talk about in my work. How ironic. How deliciously post-modern. I think the work is now 200% more meaningful. What do you think?
