Yesterday I was upstairs working on the boston movie. I got up to throw some rope. Then I heard this weird grunting and chattering coming from what used to be my old bedroom.
I walked in and saw a fat mama squirrel standing on a tabletop looking out the window. She hid in a maze of boxes and old furniture when she heard me coming. I opened the window but she got spooked.
She ran to the other side of the room and started flinging herself against a low window overlooking a rooftop. On the third try she busted the pane out and jumped into a tree.
I couldn't believe my eyes. I was stunned. I walked back to close the window I'd opened when I saw another squirrel duck and cover. It was a cute little baby squirrel. It took some time but I found it wedged between two boxes. Its little tail was covering its head.
I couldn't help but giggle like a little girl when I saw it. Then I looked around to make sure nobody heard me. And I cussed a few times and said "damn straight" to regain my manliness.
Anywho, I tried to lure it out with some pecans but that didn't work. I made a little noise and jiggled the boxes. I managed to herd it toward the busted window (which I'd opened for it). It looked at the open window and it looked at me. Then the little rascal ran into the wrong corner and somehow managed to squeeze its little ass through a tiny hole in the sheetrock.
It crawled around in the walls and ceiling for an hour before it found its way outside. It's comforting to know that animals can get in and out of your house in so many different ways.
I tried to give some super homemade tomato soup to a stray cat but the stinker ran off while I was serving it. My little brother thought it was a waste of good soup. And it was good too. yum yum
