My mom and dad visited last weekend. Dad and I took a walk around our yard. It was nice. I love our trees. We're lucky enough to have several old trees on our property. Including four huge black walnuts, a giant black maple, and three big pecan trees. We planted five black walnuts and a couple of maples about 15 years ago. And they're growing big and strong. It's a great feeling. Speaking of which...
My mom pinched my butt for not wearing green on St. Patrick's day. I didn't know what day it was. Inexcusable for a twinkly-eyed Irish boy like me. Mom made me feel a little guilty about it, of course. So I sat down for a few hours and shelled a half gallon of pecans for her. She didn't find out about them until they were on the road. She called me out of the blue to thank me. She seemed touched. But that's my mom for you...easy to please.
My little sister came down for a few days. We went on one of our late night drives. She wanted to drive her old car and she was hanging corners like a crazy person. She can barely see over the steering wheel but she knows the old dirt roads pretty well. When we got home she gave me a very short haircut. We were both laughing the whole time so I'm surprised it turned out okay. Especially considering how many times she said "oops". It was fun.
It's raining like pouring piss out of a boot down here. I forgot to mow part of the yard a few days ago but I'm not dragging my ass out into the cold rain. I've got to type up some more of the Boston movie. It's a pain in the ass but It's gonna be a good one.
