captain's log, 28 Oct 09, appx 11pm: building manager came by at 11pm to tell me the water on my side of the apartment has been shut off until further notice, and if I want to use the WC, to go to the empty apartment two doors across the hall.
captain's log 29 Oct 09, appx 8am: the slavic plumbers have invaded my sleepytime, 8am; they are clanging and slavic-speaking about a few feet away from me in my bird's nest.
captain's log 29 Oct 09, appx 8:40am: an old lady living a floor below me just walked into my apartment unsolicited, and complained a whole lot and increasingly loudly, quickly, to the workers, then talked to me about my loft bed, and left saying thanks and mumbling something under her breath. Most curious.
captain's log 29 Oct 09, appx 9:20am: head-plumber barely noticed I was here because I'm up in my bird's nest. "Cover her shit up, dust is gonna get everywhere. Look at that here, she's got her towels, her fancy fucking soap, cover all this shit up. Why is the plastic wrap in the fucking truck and not up here? Get it up here, cover all this up." Upon his realization of my hideout, "...I appreciate you're so understanding about this. It's gonna be a bigger job than anticipated." I suspect I'll be cooped up all day. Mildly concerned about tonight's plans.
captain's log 29 Oct 09, appx 9:35am: Slightly feel bad I'm not helping clear away my belongings, but it ain't my job. Now they're working on the kitchen sink. and I'm still sleepy.
captain's log 29 Oct 09, appx 9:50am: commence the drilling. headphones on, plastic curtains over kitchen door, held up by blue tape.
captain's log 29 Oct 09, appx 10:08am: More drilling, more mediocre English. Drilling, hammering. Loud. Dissuaded from eating or sleeping. Noise is hell. Eyeballs feel like they're about to pop out from stress. Uhhhh. Considering leaving.
(i think they used my toilet a couple days ago. my toilet paper was nearing the end, and when i came back to my place, it was all gone and there were traces of people having been here and fiddled about the shower.)

noctua:
Yikes. Well, hopefully they finish quickly. Not having water would totally suck.
