How have I not seen Moulin Rouge before today? It has everything look for in a cinematic fairytale; it's creative, inspired, there's nothing quite like it out there, and it was obviously done in the voice of human being. So much of what is out there could have been churned out by well-programmed computers, but this movie speaks to feelings only someone who's felt them could address with authority and honesty. Yes, life can be a fairytale in some ways, but it is also tragic and though we sometimes get what we want, we also, sometimes, get precisely what we never wanted.
