So @missy and @rambo probably gave us the best homework ever this week!
As some of you may know, I'm kind of a film person. I love movies, have a (useless) degree in Motion Picture Arts, and have been using a video camera, writing, and even acting since before puberty. Basically, film is my life.
So when the lovely doves said to talk about our favorite movie, I've been dying for some free time to write this blog so I can gush about my favorite movie of all time!
So... let's enter The Matrix, shall we?
This is basically the first movie that I have been able to quote verbatim. I love it with all my heart. It is the film that made me want to get behind the camera and make movies. My film strip bow tattoo says "follow the white rabbit" because of my love for this movie too! It's one of the last things that Trinity types to Neo on the computer before they meet at the club (That would be where the "Rabbit" part of my social media names came from, in cause you were wondering) Psypher is also an alternate spelling to one of the villans in the film, Cypher (Bald little asshole who pulls a Judas and trades Morpheus to the Smiths to be replugged)
I adore the psychology behind it. The idea of how we all need to "unplug" from the manufactured digital world. It's got strong thematics without being preachy. The fight sequences are phenominal and the FX still hold up for a movie that came out at the cusp of the new milennium.
Not to mention that Trinity will always be my hero. Bad-ass female characters for life!
Honorable mention goes to everything Tarantino and Kubrick have ever touched... and the original Star Wars trilogy :)
