Holy goddamnit. This is the first time in at least a week that I get to sit down at the computer for more than 30 minutes. And I'm sooooo sleepy. The last two weeks have been action-packed.
Last week, I decided to do some overtime at work. I worked 12 hour shifts all week. Plus I had done 12 hour shifts the previous Thursday and Friday. Twelve hour shifts make for really long days and no spare time. But they also make for a nice paycheque.
Speaking of work, last Tuesday, my manager called me over to her office and then asked another manager to join us. They had an idea for a pilot project to help reduce talk time (I work in a telecommunications call centre doing tech support and phone repair) so that we could meet the required service levels set by the CRTC. They asked me to head up this pilot project starting immediately. So since Wednesday, I've been off the phone for the most part and it's been great. It's a pilot project, so there's no official job title or pay increase, but it's great exposure for me. In the week I've been doing it, my responsibilities and recognition have increased greatly. I'm quite happy with it.
My sweet Faye finally came home last Wednesday and I couldn't be happier. It's great to have someone to cuddle with at night again. Her brother has come with her, so between the 3 of us and 9 cats, we've got quite the full house.
Saturday afternoon, I went to my first CFL game. I'm not a fan by any definition, but I got a free ticket from work (we're a sponsor of the Als) for being a top performer. Despite not being a fan and our team getting trounced, I still enjoyed myself. Saturday night, we got our drink on with Mo and S_Eldorado (who was in town from Vancouver).
Yesterday, two good friends of Faye and myself who worked with Faye until she was fired earlier this month also lost their jobs. So, to "celebrate", we decided to get shitfaced. Well, actually, the plan was to get them shitfaced. That backfired on me, as the three of us got totally wrecked while Faye watched unimpressed. Thank god I don't get hangovers easily!
Wow. I never update anymore. I'm looking at the calendar to the left of this post and this is my seventh journal entry in 4 months. I used to update like 4-5 times a week. Crazyness.
Well, time for food, chores and rest. TTFN.
