After waiting anxiously for 2 months, I got to see The Streets tonight. He's my favorite artist right now and I nearly peed myself when I found out tickets were going on sale.
Lady Sovereign opened the show and totally kicked ass. About 30 mins later, Mike Skinner and Leo hit the stage. They put on an absolutely incredible show which featured a lot of Mike singing Madonna songs (she was in town tonight as well).
After the show, I met up with Faye and went to Saphir, where we ran into the ever-crazy Shazzy and snagged some free MAC makeup. As soon as we snagged the makeup, Courtney was ready to leave, but I urged her to stick around for a bit.
We left a little while later and I headed up St-Laurent to pick up a dish of $2 chow mein. There was a small group of people at the counter ordering and taking pictures, so I started talking to Courtney. Then, I hear this cockney accent saying "Hold it down!". My jaw drops, I look up and see Mike Skinner standing there putting hot sauce on his $2 chow mein. No fuckin' way.
So I tap him on the shoulder, shake his hand, tell him I love his work and that he put on a great show. I ask him if he'd pose for picture with me and he throws his arm around me as I pass my camera phone to Courtney. She snaps the picture, Mike shakes my hand and walks away with his noodles, his keyboardist and 3 girls.
Courtney hands me back the phone just into for me the see the message "Unable to save picture. Memory full." as my picture of me and Mike Skinner in front of $2 noodles disappears forever
But all in all, an amazing night!
