It gives me a fairly queasy feeling in my stomach to award a man who has screwed so much up in the last 4 years and cannot even own up to it, much less fix it.Yet he is the Time magazine man of the year....
WTF?
Im not going into all the pent up feelings I have about my government right now. Ive seen most of you echo my sentiments over the past year anyways. But as the next 4 years of partiot acts, Rave bills and other losses of personal freedoms are pass through I am determined to fight against it all any way I can.
Given that this is neither the 1st time or the last that the United states government has turned on its people I think there is a good chance of pulling through this administration. Even our founding fathers had to deal with men like Bush and Ashcroft.Im going to end this rant with a bit of inspiration from Thomas Jefferson. He wrote these words in an open letter after the passing of the facist sedition act of 1798.sedation act( http://www.law.ou.edu/hist/sedact.html)
I find it interesting how well his words it holds true even now.
""A little patience, and we shall see the reign of witches pass over, their spells dissolve, and the people, recovering their true sight, restore their government to its true principles.
It is true that in the meantime we are suffering deeply in spirit, and incurring the horrors of a war and long oppressions of enormous public debt.
If the game runs sometimes against us at home we must have patience till luck turns, and then we shall have an opportunity of winning back the principles we have lost, for this is a game where principles are at stake."
Thomas Jefferson, in a letter of 1798, after the passage of the Sedition Act
