So my Dad called my sister and I yesterday and asked us over for diner. We go and have a great supper -my parents are awsome cooks...
During desert he turns to us and says; I want to see Fall out Boy. umm..ok? I look at my Mom and she has this look on her face and I know he's serious. My Dad has always been young at heart and listens to great music. Although I'm not an active fan of Fall out Boy I'll admit their hits are quite catchy.
I tell him we've missed the Canadian tour and we're shit out of luck.
That's when he tells us he wants to fly himself, my sister and I to Florida to catch their concert in West Palm Beach for the weekend of June 15th. I thought he'd lost it.
After making sure none of us were working, we booked out flights, hotel and concert. While everyone else were chit-chatting in the other room, I looked up the venue in Florida to discover that Rush was playing the night we arrived! HOLY CRAP! So we booked tickets for that as well!
My Dad grew up in Toronto and has seen Rush live 24 times and they even played at his prom so he's super excited to see them while we're in Florida. (we have tickets to see them here in Ottawa in September)
So I'm really excited for our 72 hour ultra-adventure trip to hot sun and beach!
All this to say that I'm extremely fortunate to have the familly that I have. Most of my friend's parents are divorced or seperated. And I don't know anybody who have the kind of relationship I have with my parents.
As sentimental as this might sound I am truely fortunate to have people like them in my life.
