Religion. Your faith is your own, I may not believe the same things you do but I will always defend the right for you to have your beliefs. I also believe that religion belongs in your chosen place of worship not work. It's like happy holidays instead of Merry Christmas. Was it really necessary to make an ambiguous change mandatory as not to offend the random people. Those people who would be offended, do you believe someone who wishes you a Merry Christmas is trying to do something other than part well wishes or happy tidings?
I had a lady give me shit for selling Halal products. Technically she gave me shit twice. Once over the phone advertising it, then actually in the store for merchandising it. She was offended that I promote Muslim food, and that I was supporting and encouraging such behavior. She went on to express disgust and shock when I informed her I was simply servicing a market within the community. She closed with a statement of defiance that she was trying to stop this from going mainstream, because she didn't want it to unknowingly end up in her Christian food. Well she said "our" but I wasn't going to tell her I'm not Christian since it may have started a holy war in front of my poultry display.
Since when did food have theology labels? If it did, could you imagine the Scientology or Satanic isle in the local grocers? Mainstream, really? Does this "informed" crackpot know how many Muslims there is worldwide? I got news for yeah lady, they've been breading. I also sell tofu, and meatless products does that mean I'm encouraging people not to eat meat? I'm a butcher, what purpose would that serve.
It's good to know that ignorance and bigotry is alive and well in the land of crazy. Larry Flint said it best, " If you don't like my magazine (Huslter) then don't read it". If something doesn't seem appetizing to you, then don't fucking eat it.
