There has been a reported case of the Hendra virus in the Central Queensland coastal area. This has resulted in the destruction of 1 horse and a quarantine on the property. There are reports of a suspected case in the North Brisbane region. If you are a horse owner in Qld make sure your horse has been vaccinated against the Hendra virus and if you horse has been vaccinated they are now coming due for their booster.
Queensland biosecurity is reminding all owners of vaccinated horses that if they are not given their booster shot, the animal will be registered as UNVACCINATED on their database.
