My vacation is slowly coming to an end.
But to review this weekend, we start at the point I left off.
I didn't fall asleep on Thursday right away. I tossed and turned a bit before closing my eyes around 3 am.
Woke up at 7:30am and sped to the Strip District to pick up my older brother who took off work just to help me move. This was one of the nicest things he has ever done for me and my appreciation is bursting through the roof.
We made it to the Uhaul place (friggin McKnight Rd, sorry, all the ones in the city were rented) by 8am and back to Shadyside by 8:45am.
From there the packing of the truck began.
It took us about 2 hours to pack it all in.
Sidenote: I found the cable modem on a desk outside of my room stating that my roommate didn't know when I was moving out, but if I could leave the modem for her to use for the internet. WTF? Why would she unplug is, set it on the desk and then ask for it back?
I took it. LOL. I'm free. It's a celebration, bitches!
Anyways, it only took us about an hour to unpack the uhaul and put it in my room. We also set it up and it's a great feeling.
Props also go out to NORE a.k.a. norritt a.k.a. "game"time.
He helped me move my clothes, my giant trunk of sporting cards, and joined me for lunch.
So the day slowly moved on, with my buddy Drool making it into town from Philly in about 4.5 hours, followed by him quickly putting on the Philadeplhia Filthy... err. Phillies jersey I purchased for his 21st birthday.
Then came the first official "party" at the new place. It's a maze and people were getting lost all night long.
We celebrated by playing beer pong out on the front porch which had its +'s and -'s.
+'s: Cool air, hollarin at peeps as they walked by, cops being cool and hot telling us to quiet down or take it inside.
-'s: Losing beer pong balls in the forrest next to the house, even though I went hunting several times, finding a few each time, to only lose more afterwards. Two steps forward, 3 steps back.
So after losing the first game, and almost being given up on, Drool and I entered the table for what would be the very first beer pong run at the new house.
While he did carry me, I did handle my own and hit shots when they counted (call me the Eric Gange of beer pong... you know closer?).
Who knows how many games we would have run up. The frat record is 27, and my partners record is 24. I have never had a run like Friday night, so I was happy with our success.
With my buddy wanting to chat up this young lady, we "retired" at 13 in a row. Having not drank much this summer, and it being cheap Natty Light which adds to the incentive to gulp it down quickly, I didn't mind finishing up and heading off to bed.
YAY! I didn't have to drive drunk to my home. Just walk down a flight of steps!
Anyways, I am without internet until the 10th (what will I ever do... maybe read). But I am having a get together on Monday August 15th. That is the first Steelers preseason game against the hated Philadelphia Eagles. While it doesn't mean anything, living with 4 Eagles fans and 4 Steelers fans creates an aura of competitiveness.
Back on track pskank.... ok, I'm back.
I will be cooking on the grill. Plans right now include, burgers, hot dogs, pork ribs, and a few big steaks for me! I will also have grilled corn, various grilled vegetables and side dishes comprising of potato salad, macaroni salad, etc.
Chips, dip, beer, liquor and pop will all be included.
Bring your sleeping bags if you wanna crash afterwards.
We will also being playing a lot of Euchre, maybe some poker, but definately some Risk. Ahh the game of global domination. I'm such a nerd.
I will update later this week with more details. Times and locations, etc.
Feel free to comment. I will try and bounce from closet computer to closest computer in due time.
