So Sunday May 15th was an extremely interesting day.
Let's start back on Saturday night.
After work I was invited to attend an engagement party for one of my older fraternity brothers. Remember, I pledged in 1999, yet I still only have 2 years of college completed. Therefore I have a lot of personal friends in the fraternity, suprising since our active brotherhood is barely at 15.
Anyways, I had the (dis)pleasure of seeing one of my best friends of all time. His name is Pat, and he has been an interesting friend since I've known him. Unfortunately, he recently moved to Ohio for his job.
It was somewhat comical the way he expressed his sadness in being so far away from me. I miss him as much as he misses me.
As for the displeasure, Pat can be an extremely annoying drunk. Apparently, he showed up to the party with 2 40's. Pat is not the type of person who drinks 40's (he is a rich, republican who has a taste for fine wine).
So "drunk" Pat was in attendance, and drama with his on again off again girlfriend actually was funny.
But it was a great night as I was able to see many friends "old-heads" that I haven't seen in a very long time.
Dark Mark - Won't be able to join us at Ozzfest, he will be out of town
Bobby - Married to a DA. He has a kick ass tattoo of his wife's face on his chest right over his heart. Bobby is always a treat (coined my "Columbine" nickname)
Tood - Engagee. I'm pretty happy for him. He was my pledgemaster and I learned alot about life from him
Yoder - Same old Yoder. We were never close, but he is a good man
Shiner - With his lovely wife, Jen, a party is not a party without Shiner. Anyone in need of rental space in McKee's Rocks? Let me know. Anyone in need of a new cell phone and cell phone plan? http://ld.net/revshines
Beau - Another great man. I was never close wth him either, but he is a very interesting person. His soon to be wifey (sssshhh, don't tell her) was there. She's a beauty and a school teacher down in N.C.
Bildo - I always see Bildo. I just wanted to point out that he was incredibly intoxicated and was telling all sorts of slurred stories. His best line of the night, in reference to me, "shut up poorboy, I don't care about your plight!"
Eric - I see Eric alot, he may never graduate either if he keeps failing Calc, but he is home for the summer.
Kara - Fiancee of Nate who is currently in Iraq serving our country, and I thank him for that.
Mahoney - Good old Mahoney. I snatched up the final spot in his fantasy football league. I couldn't afford the buy-in last year, so I joined another one for $35. I took that leagues first prize of $226, so I think I can afford to join with my buddies this year.
Anyways, had a few beers, envyed my friends attractive wives/girlfriends, and drove a very drunk Bildo home so he wouldn't drive. He thanked me this morning.
Long enough post? Oh there is more!!!
So I came back home, played some online poker, and set off for bed. With only 5 hours sleep, I showered and dressed for my day at the zoo.
Went home to pick up my little brother and get in touch with my friend who was joining us. Finally getting through, we made plans to meet and off to the zoo we were!
The zoo kicked ass! The animals were great. Highlights:
The one monkey who was showing off by swinging around his entire cage and suddenly jumped right up to the glass, right in front of us and placed his hand on the glass. Incredible.
A peeing monkey. I'm such a child.
The penguins. If you can name the television cartoon this is from you get a gold star from me - "What a minute, penguins can't fly!"
Chynnah (my friends 4 yo daughter) being excited by random things like the ball in the bear exhibit.
The dude who was afraid to go in the reptile exhibit. His girlfriend was laughing as he walked to the exit and she went in alone.
Touching the sting ray. Second time I've done that.
Now, here comes the bad part of the day.
We decided to let the kids play while we rested. We're getting pretty old, and kids have so much energy. After about 15 minutes, I saw my brother pop his head out of the Mole-Rat Maze. 5 minutes later, he was no where to be found.
While I didn't freak out, I was pretty scared. I calmly approached an employee and stated the situation.
I looked around for him for 5 more minutes and then I heard someone say that I should goto the goat yard. There I found my relatively calm brother and a zoo employee.
Apparently he had wandered off looking for me, took a wrong turn and was walking through the feeding area for the llama and camel. (Ironic as 5 years ago the camel tried to eat my brothers arm when he was 3)
The employee told him he wasn't supposed to be in there and he was shedding some tears. She asked him if he was lost and he said yeah. In response to who he was there with, he gave my name, and my clothing description. I was so proud of him. What I may not have mentioned is that he has PDD which is a form of a defeciet disorder and a bit of autistic behavior. He is the reason I am alive and will always be here for him.
After that, I was a bit anxious, so we finished up the zoo tour, I carried Chynnah to the cars, and we headed off for home.
At my dad's house, I ate dinner, took a nap and watched some poker with my dad.
Finally, I began to drive home. On the way (on Rt. 8) I spotted a deer crossing the street. Since there were no cars coming the opposite direction, I didn't need to flick my lights and I resumed my normal speed as I thought the deer was going to stay across the street.
The next thing I know, the deer is sprinting back towards my car and at the very last second, he/she leaps and hits my car, enough to leave a chunk of fur (hair?) in a tight crack in the window, and miss destroying my car and itself.
The force was still strong enough to throw my 3 rearview mirrors off. I had to pull over as my foot was shaking so bad I could barely drive.
Wow!
So finally, I came home, found out that roommate is actually moving out May 24th. Does she know something that I don't? Does she know that she will still have to pay rent until they find someone to replace us? More to come.
She also bithced about the microwave. We'll see about that one.
I just finished watching The Terminal, which IMO was very enjoyable. My DVD buying habits are out of control, but I only bought myself one today. The other have of the buy-one-get-one-free was the latest Harry Potter for my extremely brave lost little brother.
So I am going to play some more poker, try to win millions, and then goto bed. I work 64 hours this week (gotta love OT!!!) so I will be very tired and may not update much. My buddy turns 21 today, so we will be chilling at Bootleggers sometime around 8 or 9 pm. Also, Juice is coming into town:
SEE Delta Phi Pics for him and I since I can't figure out how to post it.
Since I work a ton from Tuesday-Friday, it's the only night we can chill.... and chill we shall
Ok, I'm off to try and take down some pots at the card tables.
Leave me some love,

Because at 24 it's so difficult to walk around the zoo and you need a lot of stamina.
