I have absolutely no idea what is going on right now!
I mailed the rent to the landlords the other day, along with a letter stating that I will be leaving this residence in 30 days.
I stated that due to lack of action taken on their part, I have been forced to give me notice and declare the lease null and void.
They have done absolutely nothing about the situation and they have yet to be in contact with me about this whole thing. I did provide my work phone number and email, and they could obviously send me a letter here, but nothing.
So, I am moving my things out May 29th.
I will be storing them at a friends house, and over the next two months I will be floating around the city of Pittsburgh in my car.
I can stay at my brothers in the strip, at a friends in Shadyside, at a friends in Oakland, and finally I can always head on home and see the family for some time.
So who knows what will exactly go on with the living situation. I'm sure I will be keeping everyone up-to-date.
Tomorrow has now become Brothers Day. Our mother has to work, so Mothers Day is being postponed this year.
Instead, the elder bro and I shall be attending a local fleemarket, maybe finding some kick ass junk, then heading off to maybe rollerblade through North Park, have some lunch, maybe head back to the crib to watch some movies.
So the other day I went buckwild buying DVD's. Now I'm not the richest man alive, but I was out shopping after picking my car up, and I found some pretty decent buys.
I hit up the movie department at Giant Eagle and found a BOGO deal! So I picked up 4 movies for $21 and some change.
Saved! - Haven't watched it yet. It is a satire of high school aged Christians. Something I knew of in high school, but was never persuaded to join up with.
I'm all for things mocking or even making fun of religion. Hey, it's not for me.
Plus Mandy Moore is a hotty! So I Jena Malone and the other girl. LOL.
Dawn of the Dead (reamake) - I am a huge fan of the Original, by far the best of the series (NOTLD, D(awn)OTD, D(ay)OTD). I can't wait for the newest version to entertain us Romero fans.
Since it was only about $5, I figured I would pick it up. Hell, I like Ving Rhames, Mekhi Phifer and Sarah Polley (Road Trip, Battle of Shaker Heights) is another hotty!
Garden State - What can I say? GREAT MOVIE!!!!
I d/l'd it, and once I saw it for $5, I jumped quicker than... well I can't think of an anology at this moment. Let's just say I jumped quickly.
a) I am in love with Natalie Portman. This and Closer confirmed my love for her.
b) It is just a very well directed and written movie. Zach Braff just did an amazing job through and through.
c) I was going to buy it eventuall, and had thought of hitting up the Blockbuster Buy Two Get One Free deal. This worked out pretty well.
High Roller: The Stu Ungar Story - I am a poker fan. So what? So for $5, I picked up this suprisingly entertaining movie. While it doesn't compare to other poker movies (foreshadowing), it was fun to watch, and I'm sure I will watch it many more times.
So you would think that it would end there, right?
Nope.
I headed on over to the Evil Empire known as WalMart. While I am against many of the things they are, it is tough to pay the bills when other things cost so much. WalMart is unfortunate for the fact they are cheap.
Anyways, I always find pretty decent DVD's there.
Here were my previous purchases:
The Rules of Attraction - If you haven't seen it, then go see it now. ($5.50)
Mary Shelley's FRANKENSTEIN - A pretty damn good version of the Frankenone story. De Niro is a legend. ($5.50)
Death To Smoochy - Hilarious satire of the hidden world of childrens entertainment. Think Barney, the E! True Hollywood Story. ($5.50)
So I searched through the bins, and only really found one $5.50 steal (IMO):
Vanilla Sky - One of a few movies which have shaped my outlook on life. (The others being Adaptation, Shawshank Redemption and Lost In Translation to name a few)
Cameron Diaz? Penelope Cruz? HOOOOOOOOTTTTT!!!!
Tom Cruise ain't bad either.
Anyways, I love it.
So then, since I was in a spending mood, I ventured over to the more expensive movies.
This is where I made two more purchases.
First, on the $9.99 shelf, I picked up a classic I haven't seen in so many years.
Back when I was something like 10 years old, we lent a movie to our neighbor lady, never to see it again.
Director: Jim Henson
Executive Producer: George Lucas
Evil Villian: David Bowie
Yep, it is one of the greatest movies of all time, one which is rather forgotten (including by myself).
Labyrinth!
So once again, I decided to splurge and I have had my eyes on a certain popular poker movie.
I finally caved and bought Rounders.
Not only is it the best movie made about cards, it is a great story. Great cast, some plot stretches, but a great way to get one in a gambling mood.
I would like to pick up another classic poker movie..... Maverick. LOL, I always watch these movies and then get in the mood to lose money! That's not good!
I don't know which one I will watch tonight! That's part of the fun!!!!!
So these movies add to my collection:
The Cell - Mother bought it for me with my DVD player years back. J-Lo (HOT!) Vincent D'Nofrio (Law and Order: CI) and good old Vince Vaughn!
Devils Advocate - More religious themes, and Pacino.
Freddy Got Fingered - So, I'm a Tom Green fan, sue me.... wait, don't.
8 Mile - Em is a great rapper. Ok actor, but it's a fun story with some decent rhymes.
Reindeer Games - I haven't watched this, and my aunt bought it for me 2 years ago. She thought it was funny giving it to me on Christmas. I'm sure I will watch it, take to Blockbuster and use it as a trade in.
The Terror - One of the two best financial DVD purchases, along with;
The Satanic Rites of DRACULA.
Peter Cushing (DRACULA), Roger Corman (TERROR), Jack Nicholson (TERROR) and Boris Karloff (TERROR). Horror classics, for $1 each.
Bowling for Columbine - He won awards for it for a reason.
Anchorman - "The arsonist has oddly shaped feet."
Lost In Translation - I would do anything for a girlfriend like Scarlett Johansson. Bill Murray is nearly as funny (intelligent humor) as he was in Groundhog's Day.
Fahrenheit 9/11 - I'm not a big fan of George Bush. Then again, who is? Oh, that is right, conservative Christians.
Anyways, maybe I'll find some cool ones tomorrow!!!!
I've decided on Labyrinth. See yall another day.
p-skank
