well, this is my first blog on here. although i wonder if anybody will actually read them, i will post from time to time about mundane things in my life.....blah blah blah. but mostly i will talk about music....rants and raves. rants on how very few "cool" bands come to my neck of the woods....and raves on new discoveries or things i overlooked in the past. i guess i have an eclectic taste in music....check out my myspace page and you'll see what i mean. abba to legendary pink dots....go figure. but anyway, my post tonight will be about a really cool guy and his new band coming to town this saturday and i am still shocked there will be here. adam franklin and his band bolts of melody. i am sure you guys are wondering.....who the hell is adam franklin? good question. well, he was the frontman for the vastly underrated 90s band swervedriver. the band was a harder-edged shoegazing band that had a LOT of great tunes. so i am quite stoked (yes, i said that word) to see him perform this weekend. but i have to find out where he is performing....some bar. why is h performing at some bar???? reminds me of the time i saw this awesome band called airiel perform in front of 8 people at a record store here in downtown norfolk several years ago. they deserved better than that.....ho hum. but anyway, check out swervedriver and you will not be disappointed!

thats cool, i always love low key shows the most, kind of sucks for the band that they don't get a bigger following but benefits you

yeah, but it is frustrating at times to be in an area where i live that isn't really into "indie" or "alternative" bands. i feel like i have to see this act since they will never ever come back for financial reasons or whatever. i mean, a band performs in front of 8 people!?! sure as hell can't make money that way unfortunately. but at least i have my memories of that show. check out airiel as well. a great dreampop band from chicago.
