Still holding out hope for the mac book.. but it's looking like I'd have to go for the pro if I want the stability I want.

Grr. It's tough to wait. I know that if I wait a few months the boards will be chalk full of experiences that will spell out how I should go, laptop-wise.

Hey, I saw this article on optimizing OS X macs for audio. Unfortunately, it's only for Jaguar and Panther.. Still, you might be able to glean some good things from it.
