Finally getting back into a routine at the gym. Been working so much that I didn't want to go when I got out. Weekends are still an issue. Almost 3 pm on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon and I'm on the computer. I must be insane!
Yeah, I do feel that way sometimes. Well, not really insane, just depressed. I'm doing pretty well overall, but I wish I was seeing someone. The girl never helps when she decides to txt me at 1:30 am, then never say anymore... Again, I was stupid to even reply. I'd love to meet someone - but I must hang out at the wrong places. But I have tried going to places where women 'my age' go - it feels like going to a funeral! There is an energy vacuum - a void - in those places. Like they forgot how to have fun. Well, I shouldn't generalize. I've only been to a couple of such places.
Of course, the places I do enjoy are inhabited by 'kids'. Sure, I can talk to twenty-somethings, but I don't want to date them.
Anyway, I still try to have fun when I'm not working. Last night I went with some friends on a cruise out of Point Judith. We went to Newport to see the Tall Ships and the fireworks. I actually left work early to get there! Last week I saw Cadence doing a fashion show in Woonsocket. It was interesting to meet someone else from the sight again. The only other time I met anyone from SG was last August at The Living Room when I went to see Sasquatch and the Sickabillies and Bailey hosted Suicide Saturday. Fatality was there and lots of others.
Speaking of Sasquatch, he's playing the after party for the Providence Roller Derby tonight at Jerky's. I'll be there! Almost scored tickets to The Roger Williams Park/Zoo fund raiser - Zoobilee, but it looks like the boss is going after all. That's OK, my original plan was the roller derby.

Nah, the fundraiser I went to is called Cruise Night. They do it like once a month, I think. There's a little cookout behind Javaspeed, and the roller derby girls serve hamburgers and hotdogs on their skates. Then, at like 10pm, there's an afterparty at the Penalty Box down the road, and they have a few bands play. It's a good time. I still keep meaning to go to one of the derby bouts, but I keep having plans whenever they have them.

thank you!! i think that wraps it up for major social events this summer...can't say i'm disappointed. her husband is gradually moving all his stuff in and is basically living here now. i'm good friends with both of them but the dynamics of 3 people and 1 bathroom, plus all those other little roommate issues can get touchy. I'm well aware of this and don't want any of us to start resenting each other, so i'm looking to find a place and be mostly out by the time they get back from their honeymoon. sucks though, i love my place .
