OK - maybe I just enjoy running around and never being home.
Tazza messed up my Tuesday nights. They moved the jazz jam to Thursday - so when I got there, Sarah - my bartender (who is leaving in August to go to medical school at Drexel ) - told me they were closing at 10 and the jazz night moved. Hung around til about 11 chatting, then I went to Jerky's to see the Providence Roller Derby karaoke night. That was fun - neevr saw anyone do Rammstein for karaoke before. Maybe I just haven't gone to the right places! Actually saw a SG sticker at the bar there.
Back at Tazza Thursday night - there was a street party outside with a burlesque show (but I missed it since I had to go to the gym after work). As I got there, Casablanca was starting on a huge screen set up on the side of a building. There was a Cape Verdean band playing inside. Great night there with friends. Sierra, my waitress, confirmed my VIP status for Waterfire.
Yesterday I went to my nephew's commencement at UMass Amherst. Later, my friend Elisa came by and we went to Waterfire. It's always a great event. Last night I got to go to the VIP tent. Free beer or wine and soft drinks. Shrimp cocktail, swordfish skewers, mini empanadas and a buffet table with mini pizza, cheese, dips, chips as well as a pasta dish. Then we got to go on a boat ride along the river.
Today I'm finally going to see Brooklyn Rules, the Michael Corrente movie that's playing right down the street from me. Then tonight there's a blues jam in Fall River.
No rest for the wicked, I guess!
