Went to a 'conference' at Foxwoods today. It was actually at their Golf Resort, Lake of Isles across the road from the casino and hotel. The talk was at 8:00am. Rather than drive in the morning (it's about 45 minutes), the boss decided to get a room for the night. Got upgraded to a Petite Suite, nice! But we were only there long enough to sleep for 6 or so hours. No gambling - no shows. It was about the future of the travel industry. Mostly focused on leisure travel - I handle more corporate travel. Got a few good insights anyway.
On the way back to the office, the boss mentioned my upcoming vacation - it's May 2nd to 8th, if you're interested in knowing. Asked if I had plans yet. I don't. He offered to get me a rental car and see if a friend has a room for a couple of nights at a B&B in Vermont. I gotta say, he does some pretty cool things for his staff. If this does come through, I'll need someone to take. The pressure!
