2fer last night - no, not me and 2 girls (not that I'd mind that, of course ) - but I did 2 different 'events'. Went to a friends first to see a movie called "The Secret". It's about the "Laws of Attraction" - power of positive thinking and that sort of thing. Basically, whatever you focus on, the universe will bring to you. If you focus on how bad things are in your life, it will just bring more of the bad. When you focus on good things - or more precisely, exactly what you want in your life, the universe will make that happen for you.
In a way, we all see it when we go out. If we're in a good mood, we attract people to us. If we're sullen or moody, people stay away - or worse, trouble finds us. Everyone says this about the difference when going out when you are dating versus when you're not. If you're seeing someone (as long as you're not fighting), and you go out with friends, you seem to attract people who are interested in you (of course, you're taken!). When you're not seeing anyone and you go out, you may have that sense of desperation about you, so no one wants to be near you.
Interesting film and great discussion with about a dozen friends before and after the movie. The discussion wound it's way all over the place, and we left around 12:15. Yeah, that's the thing about some geezers - they need to get home.
I had friends calling me from 10 pm or so, asking if I would be meeting them. I got to Tazza around 1:15 (Providence closes at 2 am). The friend's house is way down in South County. If you don't know RI, a 45 minute ride pretty well covers the whole state!
I haven't been to Tazza on a weekend, only during the week. What a GREAT spot. The last Saturday of the month is "Go Go Power!" The dj plays "OLD SCHOOL 60s & 70s Go Go, Soul, Funk, Northern, RnB, Disco, Boogaloo, Soul Jazz" They had 60's style go go dancers on platforms at the front of the stage. There wa sa great energy there. Hung out with some friends - Rob, Melissa and Quinn. Too bad they close at 2
