So, in about an hour, I leave to make the trip one last time.....the end of an era. It's the last time I'll walk through the gates, into the cage and over to Terri's bar. One more time through the place where I've spent the last 12 years of my life, more or less. I remember the first time I walked in there. A nervous kid of 16 in my old Thrill Kill Kult shirt Held together by safety pins. Ripped black jeans and a pair of fishnets. Getting through the door on my fake ID and into a place that would really serve as a home for me for 12 years. A place where I met the better part of the people I call my friends today. And now 12 years later. that little black building is on deathwatch. It's days draw to a close. in the name of progress. Someone wants to take it away so they can build condos. that will probably just eventually get turned into a crackhouse. The faces of all the people I've met there over the years flicker in my minds eye. Those who have gone on to persue their dreams, those who have gone on to persue their careers and those who have gone on to whatever lies beyond this life.
Hopefully some of those old faces will be there tonight, to celebrate the life of the place that has so many memories for all of us.
Goodbye ManRay.
Slainte chuig na fir, agus go mairfidh na mna go deo.
