American Apparel is going out of business. I'll bet they could save their asses by catering to larger ones instead of only offering sizes above a woman's 8/10 for their t-shirts. Americans are fat. I was a 10/12 even when I was very fit and trim in college. Evolve or die retailers.
Trying to plan a trip to California for my birthday or close to it. I'd like to hit Magic Mountain and maybe Knott's since they're both in Halloween mode at the end of October/early November.
If we can figure out a way to work around the kid's school schedule, we'll drive down with stops in Southern Oregon (obligatory family stop), then see friends in Monterey, Oakland, SLO County (where I grew up) and San Diego. I'll keep you all posted in case any of you want to see me while I'm down there.
Meanwhile, I'm still job-searching, working on a book proposal and starting up the business again, and saving for when we inevitably have to move out of this house- probably in February. I'm also looking for a good therapist who specializes in cognitive behavorial stuff. I've done a lot of soul searching recently and I know now that my inability to trust anything or anyone is keeping me from maintaining friendships.
In the meantime, anyone who wants to hang out with me is going to have to recognize my lychee-like nature and strategically avoid my poky exterior to get to my sweet, gushy insides.
Also, being crafty is always good for my emotional/mental state. I am working on transforming this jacket into a corset:
It will match my new hair.

Yeah, but your neighborhood is in Portland! (Actually, Portland reminds me a lot of Louisville, only much, much cooler more progressive, and having a way better climate.)
