Edit:
See the end of this entry for a stupid youtube I just addition.
I'm feeling a little better today. I went to work anyway. I can't get in to see the doctor until after the New Year so I'll have to wait until then to let them monkey around with my brain chemistry some more. I wish they could install a pump in my brain to regulate all the chemicals I need.
Rant for the day:
I'm sure a lot of people don't buy into the idea that it costs more to eat healthy, and I'm not saying it can't be done on the cheap but it really pisses me off when:
Beer, soda, sugary 10% "juice" = Less expensive than bottles of water or 100% juice
Candy bar = less expensive than an apple
Shitty, no nutrition bread = cheaper than whole grain good stuff
That's not even mentioning how pricey the health food store is.
To tell you the truth, I didn't notice the difference on the mainland- there were places I could shop for good food without emptying my wallet. Over here, the difference is a lot more dramatic. And everything baked, grown, or processed here is a lot more expensive than its imported counterpart.
I'm doing my best to shop at all the farmer's markets, as the stuff there is reasonably priced, but that means more driving around (more gassing up the car).
So yeah, it's frustrating.
At least tofu is cheaper than meat here.
I finally set up a blockbuster online account because they had a free trial and with all the movies we can get, it's cheaper than renting in the store over here.
Leave your suggestions for must see movies and if I haven't already seen them, I'll add them to my queue.
PS I'm sure some of you have seen this, but when it came out, youtube wasn't really up and running so I'm posting it just in case:
Edit: Here's the one I meant to post. I'm leaving the other one below it because it's kind of cool too, if you dig Fiona Apple and have a thing for librarians (like I do).

and you're totally right about costing more to eat healthy. sometimes people will say to me-- oh! it must cost more to be a vegetarian!-- but not really. it just costs more to eat healthy, meat or not.
back to the librarian thing-- have you seen party girl, with parker posey? it should be on your netflix list.
