Sixteen years ago today I lost my virginity. If I would have thought about it more, I would have avoided the anniversary of the "date that will live in infamy." Now, every year when all the stuff is on TV about Pearl Harbor, it reminds me. Not that it was horrible, but really, who wants to think about their first time?
Ooookay, moving on...
I'm not completely humbug but all the family crap that has gone down in the past 5 months and a tight budget has definitely put a wet soaking damper on things.
I'll still decorate and bake some cookies, make a gingerbread house and get some prezzies for my little boy, but I'm definitely not as into it as usual.
So, in that spirit, I'm going to start my resolutions early. In 2007 I want to:
-Get a guitar to replace the one I had to give up and learn to play it.
-Get back to the gym and get my energy back.
-Get my son into a good private school for next year so he doesn't have to attend the shitty public middle school.
-Pour myself into my career as this one might actually have the payoff that the other jobs didn't. (Looks like I'm getting a terminal and the technology I need in the next month and am not in danger of getting laid off like I thought I might be).
-Build up my savings again, pay off back bills.
-Continue learning Paint Shop Pro for illustration and photoshopping type fun.
-Write something, for fuck's sake. I don't care if it's fiction or a book proposal with a few chapters of a non-fiction book or a play or a letter to my great great grandchildren.
I hope you are all looking forward to some really special holiday moments with your family and friends.
