It's Bare-Bum Thursday!
Some pictures here!
I fell in love with the Puss In Boots character from Shrek (we finally saw the second movie and we're planning on seeing the third while it's still in theaters) and thought I'd do a quick little "set" with a pseudo theme.
We were also playing around with lighting some more and backgrounds. We set up a black background behind us so that's what you're seeing in the mirror. . . Some people gave me the advice to go with a black background but I worry about that because they don't want solid backgrounds, particularly black, white and red.
Although when you look at my reflection in the mirror with the black around me, it does look nice. I'm sure there are ways around these things. We're just playing. I do realize that the first few pictures are awful. I'd been looking forward to stripping in front of the camera all day and then my husband got all frustrated about our living situation and the fact that he thinks I'll never go pink because I don't have access to a real photographer or real studio, etc. and that if I were to ask various places if I could use them for a photo shoot they'd say no because "it's us and that's the way things go for us."
So that put me into a bad mood I couldn't shake for the first few photos.
SIGH.
I applied for a couple jobs yesterday and found out that there's already at least one person I worked with from my old job at each. Interesting. (Tells me if they got the job, I shouldn't have a problem. I hope!) I have an assessment with one of those companies tomorrow morning (they give this to all candidates who fill out the online applications so no one get your hopes up). . . If I do pass the assessment, I get free paid training but I don't think the next training class starts until mid-June. I guess I could apply for unemployment and get a single check in that interim.
The weekend plan is to gut our living room, set it up as close as we can to a real studio and shoot two different sets on Sunday for possible submission. Then I thought maybe I wouldn't stress over the submission process if I had other things to occupy my time, like a job - so I probably won't actually submit the pictures if any of them are any good until I'm working again. Hopefully that will be sooner than later.
I guess we'll just have to see.
