The people at SG never cease to make me so glad I spent the money to be a member. . . I can't thank you for all the kind/sweet/sexy/"inappopriate" replies on my last post. . . And I really, really appreciate the suggestions for lighting.
The intent was to purchase a bunch of cheap bulbs and spot lamps (we're poor- even if I wanted "real" studio lighting, that's a total pipe dream right now). I'm hoping that my next new set will be using that lighting and maybe a new background (new bedsheets! yay!) . . . the work lamps and energy smart bulbs (especially if I can use the energy smart bulbs in the work lamps!) would be ideal.
My computer is finally healed (praisedalahd!) -- apparently the use of "compatible" in computer-speak really means "it may or may not actually fit your motherboard." (The graphics card I purchased was supposed to work with my ASUS motherboard but it didn't fit well in its slot and had an iffy on-and-off connection. So off to the computer store I went, got a new graphics card that just about FELL into its slot. Of course, by then I'd managed to screw up my installation of XP so I had to reinstall. . . I'm SO glad I kept all my old info on my old computer. . . I would have lost my resume, which I haven't updated in the greater part of 4 years.)
So my computer is now at 100%. (YAY!)
I got help from my dad on the PA apartment issue (not sure if it'll do us any good but it's worth a try!). . .
And that rainstorm hasn't been here yet. I'm getting a little disappointed here! Of course, if it warms up I'm hoping I'll be able to take some nice photos at Blacks Beach. . . . (*cough!!*)
My weekend was pretty boring- I didn't get to go to the faire or anything because we kind of ran down to $28 in our checking account until today. So we went grocery shopping (ah, the perks of paying by check. . . ) and made some food at home and cleaned and organized a little.
I've really needed to go through all my beads and reorganize them. (It's sad, I know. . . but it's the little things like that which make me happy!)
There's still a horrendous mess in the living room and lots of laundry to sort. Not the fun part of life but necessary. It's better than updating that resume of mine (which I also have to do today).
I'd rather be taking pictures.
Hope everyone has a funderful week!
xoxo

However, I just found out my company will pay for me to advance my education (I have a double Associate's Degree in medicine and medical office management and one in Audio Technology, but it looks like I'm going for my Bachelor's, Masters, etc - found out I can do the Bachelor's mostly through correspondence by mail, computer, etc, at my own pace, then go on for my Master's).
It's a great deal, but I kind of want to shift my career (still medical, but just not doing what I'm doing). If I change company's now, though, I can forget about more education. And I'm not getting any younger. Or richer.
Congrats on the computer situation. good thing you saved stuff on the old comp. I'm getting ready to start an online storage service - when I lose the dial-up and get a REAL connection, that is. I"ve got quite a bit of storage space and I'm sure I couold undersell the competition without really affecting my oh-so-thinkly-spread time too much.
AND . . . I'm glad you're a member, too.
AND . . . I can't wait to see what you do with new lighting.
Sounds like a joke - how many SG Hopefuls does it take . . .?
Yes! Beach Babe photos.
