I sometimes wonder about the people around here who don't seem to understand the cold. I mean, sure it rarely- if ever- gets too chilly, but I see men and women wear shorts and sandals year round in chilling winds, when it actually snows, in the rain. Is it an incomprehension of seasonal effect? Is it a refusal to adhere to weather standards, a blunt protest of nature? Or do people just forget to buy summer clothing because it's usually so hot? I don't think I'll ever know. For my part, I was born in mountain country, even if it was a valley. We got snow, we got chill and we dressed the part.
So yeah, the second year I'm on retail duty during the holidays. I kinda miss having a phone line between me and my customers. This one lady flipped out on my because I corrected her while she was trying to trick a cashier out of a yard of fabric. I can't fathom why she needed a yard of fabric so badly. It really makes the pit of my stomach sink when someone gets angry like that at me, but what can I do. But, then again, I do get the perk of making faces at stranger's babies until they smile and seeing the regular customer who looks like Mr. T and his baby who also has the same haircut. Plus, it's always nice to have people complement you for customer service or remember that you helped them when they come into the store after a while.
I got a lot of left over Halloween Fabric. It was on sale and I like the skulls and spiderweb designs, plus black and orange are two of my favorite colors. I've gotta figure out something to do with it, though.

Looking forward to seeing the crafts you come up with and also I might have to check out this show you spoke of.
