I had a work dream last night, and I felt sad when I remembered it. In my dream, one of the owners expressed his sadness over my failure to take charge of the menu reset. IRL, I hadn't had any responsibility for it, but in my dream I thought that I had.

IRL, the owners have wished for more from me in the leadership department, but my overtures toward achieving mutual accomodation have received no response. I have seen this before in a food service operation. Lately, I've shifted my focus toward increasing their in-the-moment awareness of those issues which concern me about the operation. I would feel more comfortable with a shared committment to continuous improvement in those interrelated desires. In fact, with that in hand, I'd work harder for no additional compensation. I'd enjoy my work that much more. AND, I really love my bank.
