i have a crazy insane week comming up, pretty much no free time and a lot of stress... awesome!
tomorrow after my 2 other jobs i'm moonlighting as a stylist for a photographer friend of mine, and in return she will be shooting a series of me... and who knows where those photos might end up?? i love to do hair and makeup for these shoots because i get to do such fun cool things, funny thing is i just never thought of doing this as a living. i think it's sucky that the majority of society looks down upon creative careers where individuality and actual talent bring those that deserve it to the front. if you say that you are a makeup artist, or tattoo artist or painter, chances are, unless directed to a fellow artist, someone will subconciously think "that means they didn't do well in school," or "they didn't have the money for a good college," or "they don't have what it takes for a real career." now i'm not saying everyone thinks this, but more of a generalization that you aren't smart unless you are a doctor, or lawyer, or computer-guy (yeah you!), or are already making mad ammounts of money right out of school. granted in the midst of this rant i myself am working in a medical field, however i have great respect for those that have the amaizing talent to be able to do what they love to do. not only that but i know that all my photograpghy and art-major friends are already making at least twice as much money as i am right now, not to mention how much of my own money goes into the well deserved pockets of my tattoo artist . i guess what i'm trying to say is that i wish i had the talent, drive, and balls to be a real stylist, but i don't. so "mad props" to all you crazy creative people out there, and take great pride in knowing that you will probably make more money and be more famous than that kid in your class that was really good at math . and to all those people that are really super smart and geniuses and making lots of money in medicine or law or computers, chances are i'm just mad cuz i'm not smart enough to be in those fields myself .
