Positive: My sister married a guy that's "one of us".
Negative: Now, someday, I'll be responsible for the financial well being of six people.
Positive: They don't plan to have kids, thus adding to my future responsibilities.
Negative: That leaves me the only one left to make the next generation (and I don't mean Capt. Picard)
Positive: I got to spend a few days among the trees and creatures I love so much.
Negative: The only thing I don't miss about home; mosquitoes (I'm a mosquitoes magnet, it defies science).
Positive: I got eight and a half hours of straight peaceful sleep, Friday night. Damn.
Negative: I've had two hours of sleep since.
Positive: Twice having an hour and a half layover in Dallas/Fort Worth's Admiral's Club.
Negative: My come-and-go pain receptors neglecting to tell me the two large bags were tearing my shoulders up, while power walking there.
Positive: Seeing so many family members, I usually don't get to see.
Negative: They laid it on thick and teamed up against me, this trip; "Do have a girlfriend out there, or something?", "What's keeping you out there?", "You know, you could look for a job a little closer to home.", and my mother's new substitute for the word "California" - "That damn California".
I must go put ice on my shoulders, now. Seriously, I tore the fuck out of them. Didn't feel a thing, damn sleep deprived body.
